UNILAG Postgraduate Form For 2023/2024 Academic Session

The School of Postgraduate Studies at the University of Lagos is currently accepting applications for admission into its various postgraduate programs for the 2023/24 academic session. We hereby inform the general public that interested candidates can apply for the UNILAG postgraduate form without any hindrance.

To be eligible for admission, candidates must meet the recommended requirements for the postgraduate course they have chosen. Below, you will find the entry requirements for the Master’s, PGD, and Ph.D. programs offered in this session, as well as instructions on how to successfully apply for the University of Lagos postgraduate form in 2023.

UNILAG Postgraduate Programs

• Postgraduate Diploma Programmes (PGD)
• Masters Degree Programmes (e.g., M.Sc., M.Ed., M.A., LL.M, etc)
• Professional Masters Degree Programmes (e.g., MBA, MILD, MILR, MPH, MDSS, MPIA, MPA, MGIS, MSEM, MRPP, MDF, MHDM, MPE, MDM, MTTFL, etc)
• Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programs.

The mode of study is flexible, offering Full-Time, Part-Time, Executive, and Sandwich options as required. Before submitting your application, we encourage you to review the list of PG programs available at the University of Lagos.

UNILAG Postgraduate Admission Requirements

• Possession of a bachelor’s degree from the University of Lagos or another approved institution.
• Additional credentials recognized by the University of Lagos Senate.
• Successful completion of a selection process, which may include written and/or oral interviews, in addition to meeting requirements (i) and (ii) above.
• Candidates currently enrolled in a postgraduate program or those who have not completed the National Youth Service Corps need not apply, as their applications will be automatically rejected.
• Candidates awaiting their Bachelor’s degree results are not required to apply.
• Degrees obtained from outreach or satellite programs are not eligible for application.
• All academic transcripts must be submitted to the School of Postgraduate Studies’ administrative secretary and deputy registrar before the start of the intended session.

UNILAG Postgraduate Specific Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with honors, at least Second Class (Upper Division), from the University of Lagos or an approved institution.
• Candidates with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50 and a Master’s degree.
• Prospective M.Phil. program candidates should confirm supervisor availability within their respective department before applying.
• Candidates with a Master of Philosophy degree must have a CGPA of at least 4.0.
• Candidates with a Master of Science degree must have a CGPA of at least 4.0.

How to Apply For UNILAG Postgraduate

• Visit the School of Postgraduate Studies University of Lagos Portal at spgs.unilag.edu.ng
• Click on the “2023/2024 Applications” link.
• Complete the Pre-Application Form to obtain a Payment Reference Number (Ensure to write down the payment advice).
• Proceed to make a non-refundable payment of N22,500 (Twenty Two Thousand and Five Hundred Naira Only) for the Form and charges using one of the following methods:
  • Remita Payment: Utilize the RRR number displayed on the payment advice at any commercial bank.
  • Online Payment: Click on the “Pay Now” link to make a direct payment through the portal using a bank debit card.
• After making the payment, return to the School of Postgraduate Studies website at spgs.unilag.edu.ng and select the Application link.
• Use the Payment Reference Number as your username and your lowercase last name as the password.
• Complete the application form, ensuring that you upload a digital passport photo in JPEG format. The photo should not exceed 15KB in size and must have a white background. The dimensions should be 275 pixels wide or 35 millimeters, and 314 pixels high or 40 millimeters. Failure to adhere to the required image format may result in disqualification.
• Click “SUBMIT FORM” upon completing the registration.
