How To Apply For NNPC/Total Scholarship – The NNPC/Total Scholarship is an academic initiative designed to aid Nigerian students who are pursuing degrees in a wide range of subjects. In order to promote education and development in Nigeria, the scholarship is being granted in collaboration between the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and Total E&P Nigeria Limited.
Through the NNPC/Total Energies National Merit Scholarship Scheme, the operator of the OML 130, Total Energies Upstream Nigeria Limited (TUPNI), offers scholarships to interested and qualified Nigerian students. This is done in accordance with the company’s commitment to corporate social responsibility.
The scholarship, which is available to all first- and second-year full-time students regardless of their field of study, aims to help deserving Nigerian students pay for their studies.
Successful applicants receive annual scholarship funds from the Scholarship Scheme from the year of the award (first year or second year) until they have finished their degree program.
NNPC/Total Scholarship Eligibility
To be eligible for the scholarship, interested applicants should;
- Be fulltime undergraduate students in recognized Nigerian University
- Be in their first or second year at the time of application
- Posses a minimum of 5 credits in SSCE (including Mathematics & English Language)
- Have a notification of Result in the just concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) with the required JAMB score.
- Posses a proof of Admission letter from a recognized University
- A-level statement of results for direct-entry students,
However, students/applicants in any/all of the categories listed below are not qualified for the scholarship
- Who scored less than 200 in the UTME
- With less than 2.50 CGPA on a 5-point scale or equivalent
- Who have already completed their second year
- Who are current beneficiaries of similar awards from any other Agency ( Private or Government)
Application Requirements for NNPC/Total Scholarship
For a successful application process, the following information will be required;
- Recent Passport Photograph
- Certificate or Proof of Origin
- Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (SSCE)
- UTME result (Be sure to meet the required minimum point)
- JAMB/University Admission Letter (Notification of Result)
- 1st Year Result showing CGPA

- Click on the Apply Button
- Select the “Click Here to Register/Login” button
- Enter your personal details to begin your scholarship registration process
- Select the Captcha box to verify you are not a robot
- Click on the Register button
- Verify your email address in your mailbox
- Login to your NNPC/Total Scholarship portal to continue registration
After successfully applying, attest that all the info provided is true. Accept terms and condition. On screen alert will confirm that you have successfully completed the application. You will receive an email to confirm this too.
Required Information
During the application process, be sure to provide the under listed information correctly and appropriately on the required tabs
- Personal Information tab, provide;
- Enter your name,
- Date of birth
- Permanent home address
- Recent passport photograph.
- Contact Information tab, provide;
- Your email and mobile phone information. Be sure to use an active email and mobile phone number.
- On the Origin, provide;
- Your state and local government of origin data.
